Our Director

Michael C. Freeman graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a BS in accounting in 1994. After graduating, he relocated to Philadelphia where he was hired at Gottieb & Associates, APAC. Michael soon became manager and was responsible for ensuring that Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports were prepared for skilled nursing facilities nationwide. In February of 1997, Michael was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant. He then became member of the AICPA, PA State Society of CPA'S, and the PA Chapter of the Health Financial Management Association. He authored or presented seminars on subjects such as understanding Medicare Reimbursement, Preparing Medicare Cost Reports, Effective Medicare Billing and Understanding Case Mix Reimbursement System.

In early 1998, Michael decided to return to Louisiana to pursue opportunities with Brupbacher and Associates, APAC. B&A is a full service CPA firm with offices in Lafayette, LA and Rayne, LA. He became a partner in October of 1999 charged with the healthcare division where he expanded services to include Acute, CAHs, IPFs, IRFs, LTCHs, HHAs, Hospice, and RHC's.

In March of 2001, Michael purchased the healthcare division and formed The Freeman Group which is now TFG Consulting, LLC. He has dealt exclusively with healthcare providers for his entire career and prepared or supervised and reviewed in excess of 1,700 cost reports. Between 2002 and 2004, Michael also opened two Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (Rehab Hospitals) in Louisiana. He has since sold his ownership, of both hospitals, to existing long-term clients of TFG Consulting, LLC. While running TFG Consulting, LLC, Michael has also held the position of Chief Financial Officer of several hospitals and provided interim financial management services for providers during periods of transition. These experiences provide Michael with a unique operational perspective that supplements his 18 years of cost reporting/reimbursement consulting experience.
